Eyes are the most important feature that can make you look glamorous ๐๐ฉ๐ป… ย When it comes to eye makeup, kajal or kohl is the most important product. But what is a commercial kajal, eye liner n mascara made up of??? ๐ข Check thisย out to know the ingredients n the harm they might cause to your eyes!
A safer all-natural khol can easily be prepared with just two ingredients. This is my first trial recipe of kajal.
Ingredients:
- 12 Almonds
- 1 drop ๐ง of sweet almond oil
How to prepare?
- Take a metal roti roaster / sieve and place it on the stove. Once it is hot, place the almonds on it…
- Wait for few minutes until one side gets completely burnt like this ๐…
- Gently turn the almonds to the other side using a metal fork n a spoon. Let the other side also burn completely like this…ย <I have to warn you –ย this will turn your house smokey and need to be very cautious as the almonds would catch fire, recommended to do in a open space with no kids around!>
- Once they are completely lit and burnt, sift the ashes into the mortar…
- Grind them as finely as possible… Add a drop of sweet almond oil and grind…
- Transfer and store it in a small glass jar. That’s it all-natural almond khol / kajal is ready to be used!
How to use?
- This can be applied on the eye water line with your finger tip / a eye liner brush…
- This can be used as eye liner, eye brow liner…
- This can be used as eye shadow…
- This can be used for smokey eye…
- Also can be used as nazar ka tika / dishti chukka (in telugu) for babies ๐ถ. Few traditions in India ๐ฎ๐ณ believe, applying a small black dot on babies face will protect from evil eyes ๐…
Kohl / Kajal can also be used as an ingredient to prepare DIY mascara… Will be posting the recipe very soon stay tuned…
If you are not a DIYer then please do look for natural alternatives available in the market… For friends abroad do check if your products are safe in EGW skin deep database or download their app Healthy Living.
