Beauty and the Beast

Yes I did watch the recent Disney blockbuster “Beauty and the Beast” but this post has nothing to do with the movie, except for the dialogue that I would quote from it ๐Ÿ˜‰.

This post is specially targeted for all the teen girls & young women out there. Let’s discuss on – What is beauty? What is body shaming & racism shaming n how to psychologically overcome them?

Beauty

Most of the teen girls / young women aspire to look flawless like an actress does on the screen or on covers and try out various unhealthy means like – starving or eating so called fake foods that advertise to be slim / diet foods, using chemical laden products just because their favourite actress is in the advertisements and spend a lot of time & money at the salons and get in contact with hazardous chemical products which are both harmful to people and the environment!

Fact is that it takes a myriad of people (makeup artist, designer, hair dresser, dietician, workout trainer, cameramen, editors, photoshop experts etc), a loot of money, and an incredible amount of time to make a female celebrity look the way she does when you see her on the screen, in the magazine covers & in the advertisements. It isnโ€™t real, and it isnโ€™t anything to aspire to.

And here I would like to quote my favourite lines from the movie –

Do not be deceived by appearance! For Beauty is found within!

Stop looking at yourself as something that needs to be fixedย rather focus on nourishing your body, on fit lifestyle, on clean eating, and more on being happy ๐Ÿ˜Š. There is beauty in health & happiness. You are naturally beautiful in your own unique way! Accepting this fact will give you immense confidence and set your mind free and let you think about more important things in life.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Women are created with a unique body which is capable of giving life ๐Ÿคฐand nurturing another being ๐Ÿ‘ถ, how beautiful is that!

๐Ÿ‘‰ Women are created with a motherly ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆlove, that prioritises her offsprings well being over hers, how beautiful is that!

๐Ÿ‘‰ Few of them are very compassionate and lead their life in service to other beings or the environment, how beautiful is that!

Beauty is found in everyone, you just need to have the eye & heart to see it!

The beast – body shaming & racism shaming n how to psychologically overcome them?

Body shaming is defined as – inappropriate negative statements and attitutes toward another person’s weight or size or shape. Racism shaming is defined as -inappropriate, negative statements and attitudes toward another person’s skin colour or ethnicity. ย <Defined byย bodyshaming.orgย > And am referring to these as a Beast coz I believe they play a major role in shattering your confidence.

Here I am not referring to the unintentional one in which your near and dear ones tell out of love, the one I am referring to is in which people intentionally make inappropriate negative statements towards your weight / size / shape / skin colour / ethnicity, to purposefully shatter you. If you think you are bullied because you aren’t beautiful, a big No.. Did you know that the so called models, beauty pageant winners and actresses are no exception and are also being body shamed many a times! It’s important to understand that people often put others down because they are insecure about themselves or tend to have a sadistic pleasure by bullying others.

I never experienced such bullying during my schooling or my secondary schooling but did during my professional (engineering) education. Yep many a times I was being body / racism shamed but I have this so calledย I don’t care attitude and I did follow one secret mantra <revealed by my Mรถm to me & yes i’ll reveal it to you!>, that it didn’t effect me. I bet many of you faced / might be facing them too. What I really want young girls / women out there to understand is that the person who bullies has insecurities about themselves and so they tend to bully – pity them. Don’t let that effect or shatter you!

And here is the secret mantra that really did work for me and would definitely work for you too. Next time you hear ๐Ÿ‘‚ any such bullying comment –

Close your eyes, take deep breath and imagine you are driving a car ๐Ÿš˜ on a lane and few dogs ๐Ÿถ start barking and chasing your car for no reason, you wonder ๐Ÿค” what’s wrong with them and move on, now open your eyes ๐Ÿ‘€ and just move on!

However if the bullying gets worse please do open up and let your parents or higher authorities know about it!

P.S: This post is specially dedicated to all theย beautiful women that I have come across in various stages of my life! And now you know what I mean byย beautiful!
Between this post is solely based on my thoughts & experiences and I have no intension of hurting anyone’s feelings. Thankyou!
