Olive oil:

Shelf life: 1 n 1/2 to 2 years

Suitable for:  ALL skin types

Obtained from: Olives – fruits of a small tree Olea europaea found mainly in the Mediterranean regions.

Benefits for the skin:

  • Antioxidant Protection: Olive oil contains three major antioxidants: vitamin E, polyphenols, and phytosterols. Antioxidants, when topically applied, may help protect the skin from premature skin aging. Vitamin E partly accounts for the anti-aging benefits of olive oil because it helps restore skin smoothness and protects against ultraviolet light. Hydroxytyrosol, a rather rare compound found in olive oil, also prevents free radical damage to the skin.
  • Anti-inflammatory and Antimicrobial Properties: The phenols present in olive oil have anti-inflammatory properties. The antimicrobial characteristics of the oil are a result of its strong aroma.

How n when to apply?

  •  After bath 🛀:  Remember that body oil is best applied on warm and moist skin. That is why, it is best if you could apply body oil after bath. Make sure you pat dry your body n apply oil immediately after bath. This way oil penetrates into the skin easily. After massaging, wait for a few minutes, and if there is any excess oil, blot it away and then dress up…
  • Oils can be used as massage oils before bath…
  • Oils can also be applied before going to bed…
